So, what’s this about a coach and a host?

The biggest thing that a team needs are coaches, a place to meet and commitment from parents. There have to be two coaches on the roster, and they will both need to pass a background check, but one can do the bulk of the coaching, and the other one pitches in when needed.

Willingness to be a coach does not mean that you’re an engineer or know anything about robotics. It means that you are willing to mentor a team and lead the kids, they can figure out the legos, and we can help with the tech stuff.

The other thing is a host. The team needs someplace to meet regularly, and a public space generally won’t do. You’re going to have the table (a 4×8 sheet of plywood to hold the mat you saw), so you need somewhere you can set it up and leave it.
